  • Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2 Race Car

Purchased new by Mark Sumpter and collected by him from Stuttgart in January 1998, this extraordinary 996 has an impeccable preparation and racing pedigree that has seen it successfully compete at a high level - including the first ever win for a 996 at Brands Hatch.

The day after collection, the expert Paragon team stripped the car and delivered it to Mike Jordan of the Jordan Racing Team for full race preparation and development.

Following this it competed in the 1998 and 1999 Porsche Club Championships with several victories. Adrian Slater then purchased the car and competed in the same series, with the car again looked after by Mike Jordan’s team.

In 2001, Jason Young of the Jordan Racing Team raced the car for a season, and following that we reacquired the car and sold it to a Porsche enthusiast as a track day car.

After several years the 996 was sold on, and in 2016 we were offered the chance to purchase it from the new owners. This we did - with the idea that we would enter it in the Porsche Club Championships and go for the title!

Back the 996 went to Mike Jordan, where it was stripped and rebuilt with the latest upgrades and a specification that ensured it was safe, reliable and a potential race winner.

The 2017 season led to 4 wins and 2nd place overall - so there was still some work to do. Over the winter of 2017/2018 we refined the car even further and in 2018 came out faster and even more determined to win.

The 996 dominated the 2018 Championship - winning seven races and finishing on the podium twelve times out of the fourteen races, twenty years after our first attempt in this very special 996.

The expert preparation gave us 100% reliability throughout the season.

Now offered with an extensive history file including early pictures and articles as well as a full archive of the 2017 and 2018 Championships, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a proven Championship winning Porsche.

    Please Note:

We will include an extra set of wheels and tyres and also a spares package and can look after the car in our workshop and also run it at race days or track days for you.

The car is fully road legal and UK registered and will be supplied with a fresh MOT. A passenger seat and harness could easily be fitted if required.
